We had an amazing time at St Michael’s Catholic College’s Career Fair. We spent the day meeting students year 6-10 and sharing our passion for technology, innovation and future careers.
Inspiring the Next Generation
The morning was filled with fantastic conversations at our table. We had the opportunity to meet students from different year groups and learn about their interests, ambitions and future goals. We introduced them to Web3sy, explaining who we are, our mission and the work we do to help businesses embrace modern technology and digital transformation.
One of the highlights of the morning was hearing about the wide range of career oaths students were considering. From engineering to marketing, business and creative industries, it was inspiring to see so many young people already thinking about their futures. We also spoke with several students who were interested in gaining work experience. We discussed how valuable it can be in developing practical skills, building confidence and helping them discover careers they truly enjoy.
Throughout the morning, we shared career advice with students across Years 6–10. We encouraged them to stay curious, keep learning, and not be afraid to explore different opportunities. We spoke about the importance of developing problem-solving skills, communication, teamwork, and adaptability, qualities that are valuable in every industry, especially in the fast-moving world of technology.
Events like this are incredibly important because they give students the opportunity to connect with professionals, ask questions and gain a better understanding of the world of work. They help young people discover career paths they may never have considered and inspire them to pursue careers they’re genuinely passionate about.
Exploring the Connected World
In the afternoon, we delivered presentations on The Connected World and Living with the Internet of Things (IoT). Students explored how connected technology has become a part of everyday life. This includes smart homes and wearable devices to connected healthcare, transport, and smart cities. We also discussed the importance of cybersecurity, data privacy, and using technology responsibly in an increasingly connected world.
The students were incredibly engaged throughout the presentation. They asked thoughtful questions and showing curiosity about the future of technology. Their enthusiasm led to some fantastic discussions about how connected devices are shaping the way we live, work, and communicate.
To finish the day, students worked in small groups to complete activities and answer questions based on the presentation. It was great to see them collaborating, sharing ideas, and applying what they had learned. The teamwork and critical thinking on display was so inspiring to see.

We thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many enthusiastic students and hope we inspired them to continue exploring the exciting opportunities available in technology and beyond.
